Set up and implemented a successful department, which is mainly responsible for all (European) Tenders in the Netherlands and cross border. By setting procedures and implementing a consistent workflow, hitrate increased to approx. 35 to 40%.
Besides these activities the department is responsible for supporting the Ahrend organization worldwide. Specific areas of responsibility:
- Preparation of National and International European Tender responses (approx 90 a year);
- Preparation of National and International Private Tenders (approx 30 a year);
- Preparation of client and distribution agreements;
- Development of new general sales terms for Ahrend;
- Setting up International Key Account Management and supporting the Country Directors;
- Keeping up to date tender content;
- Advicing Sales Director on regional sales plans and forecasts.
Besides the responsibilities in Sales, I am responsible for the ISO 9001 (Continuous improvement) in the sales organization, which is being managed by the staff member responsible for quality.
The team consists of 5 Bid managers , 1 Quality Manager and an interim legal consultant.

Project Manager
March 2006 – May 2010 Besides managing the department I was responsible for several internal projects. Projects within the Dutch organization, but also integral projects across the different Ahrend companies & countries.

Examples:
‘Sales Tactics’ project. Improvement of internal margins through development of Sales Tools.
Outcome: New Calculation matrix, new bonus structure Sales, trainings, etc.

‘Bridge’ Project. Developed a new workflow based on the current certified ISO workflow aligned to the future situation taking people and applications into account. Taking client satisfaction as the basis for the workflow.
Outcome: new workflow for the Dutch Sales Organisation, which improves order procedures, decrease faults, decreases operational cost.

‘Ahrend Atrium’Project. Implemented the intranet site which has different access levels (Employees, Dealers and Architects) and is set up in 4 languages (Dutch, English, German and Spanish). Go Live was October 2006.
Managed a project for the new “Ahrend.com” site, Go Live was January 2007.
Both sites are incorporated in one Content Management system “Smartsite”.
Both projects were delivered within budget, scope and planning. Total costs of the projects was approximately € 600 K.

As a Project Manager I was responsible for: Resouces, Budget, Planning, Scope, Supplier Delivery, Reporting to Steering Committee.


May 2005 – Dec. 2005 Regional Commercial Manager at Shell Telecoms Organisation

Survey of activities:
Together with 10 other Regional Commercial Managers responsible for the Telecom spend of Shell worldwide.
Development and execution of Telecom strategies, achieving savings by tendering, negotiations and consolidation.
Total annual worldwide spend € 500 M.

Excuted complex European Tenders such as Cleaning (€ 6 M), Arbo (€ 0,5 M) and Maatschappelijk werk (3,5 M).

Developed tools to professionalize the buying department.
Written a report about savings opportunities for all the commodity groups of the COA.
