Packeteer, is a leading provider of application performance infrastructure software systems designed to give enterprises and service providers a layer of control for applications delivered across intranets, extranets, and the Internet (bandwidth management).

As the EMEA marketing manager, my key responsibilities were:
Working closely with key partners across EMEA, creating an environment for the to become strategic assets, create marketing plans and activities with and for them.
• Select new strategic channel partners across EMEA, together with the sales rep. and get them up to speed with Packeteer.
• Identify & manage vertical markets
• Drive & manage all marketing programs for these verticals within EMEA.
• Identify and manage demand generation events, with involvement of key partners.
• Creating collateral.
• Work closely with our HQ marketing department (market development, marcom and partner marketing) in the US, identify and report back the EMEA requirements into HQ.
• Liaise with country management (VP, director and marketing manager level) across EMEA; ensure that marketing activities are in line with the company’s strategies.
• Manage PR agencies (France,UK,Germany and Spain).

As the EMEA Microsoft key account manager, my key responsibilities were:
• Increase Microsoft their certification programs.
• Develop and maintain good vendor-client relationships with the local Microsoft subsidiaries within the EMEA region.
• Develop targeted promotions and events with Microsoft and our channel.
• Coordinate with the U.S. Microsoft business unit (within Prometric) in support of the Prometric global relationship strategies.
• Management & localisation of programs between regions proactively and productively.


June 1997 – February 1999 Lotus/IBM - Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Responsible for the marketing in EMEA for the department Lotus Consulting:
• Creating the marketing plan, this involved meeting and agreeing various marketing activities with the Consulting and marketing heads in the 5 major European regions as well the liaison with the US HQ Lotus Consulting marketing team. As this was a new role a great deal of work was devoted to ensuring that al parts of the organization understood the dynamics of a consulting business and the marketing requirements. This plan and the demand creation has helped Consulting to achieve 140 % of it’s plan in 1998.
Other activities in the marketing plan includes;
*Customer Satisfaction , reference stories.
*Planning a number of large EMEA events, including Lotusphere.
*Creating collateral
*Working with the Lotus subs. within EMEA, (product) marketing managers, how to leverage from their marketing activities.

• Development of a marketing/promotion plan for the promotion of the Dutch dairy products in the hypermarkets, throughout Spain and Baleares.
• Creating & maintaining the relations between the Dutch exporters, Spanish importers and the large distribution channels.
• Responsible for the budget and promotion plan for all Dutch dairy exporters.
• Market research on the large distribution channels in Spain.
• Market research on Dutch Cheese and its competition in Spain.
• Manage the branding, increase the brand awareness of the Dutch dairy products across Spain.
• Responsible for the hiring and training of people doing the promotions for the Dutch dairy products.

French fashion designer, my responsibilities included:
• Maintaining relationships between the head office in France, their factory in Germany and the Spanish distribution channels for Louis Feraud
• Partially responsible for importing Louis Feraud’ s lingerie & beachwear in Spain.
