Work Experience

¨ PC Technician – Sales, Installation and configuration of computer systems, installation of simple networking environments, contacts with suppliers – dealers.
Worked for 3 years as a student during the days off and holidays, later, on fixed basis.
Responsibilities: Help in running the computer shop, installations, and contacts with suppliers, handling the RMA procedures, etc…
¨ From 05-05-1998 till 11-08-1999 in the large international company’s Belgian Offices in Zaventem.
Functions: first 2 months as PC Support, after that as IT-Specialist, at last promoted to IT-Manager.
Responsibilities: Hardware and software. Support of the network in Token Ring and Ethernet TCP/IP. Servers and workstations different OS’s – Novell 3.12 – Windows NT 4.0 – Windows 95/98 – Linux (RedHat – S.u.S.E. – FreeBSD) – OS2 Warp v.4. Lotus Notes 4.5 and 4.6 – different printing connections – AS/400 Client Access – MS Office user support. Customer support of the product line (faxes, copiers, printers, mopiers (multi-functional) and connectivity) for the customers and dealers, Organization of the courses in different IT- based areas, meetings with dealers and management, IT budget handling.
¨ From 12-08-1999 till 20-10-2000: As a consultant – function of GroupWare and Networking Specialist in one of the leading IBM/Lotus Corporate Partners in Heverlee.
Responsibilities: Lotus Notes 4 and 5 installation and support, connectivity and networking, courses for the internal users and clients in Lotus Notes and Domino, Networking and Security. Network and Security audits. Project management. Major projects in LAN and WAN environment, planning and installations onsite (various locations in Europe).
¨ Currently, from 23-10-2000: As an International IT Manager for a Printing Solutions Company, in it's HQ in Diegem (Machelen).
Responsibilities: Project-, People- and Global IT Management on international level are my core tasks. In my function I support 11 countries with 16 offices. In these economically insecure and difficult days, where the key words are 'saving', 'buyout', 'joint-venture', ‘merger’... etc., I learned how to keep up with the dynamic business changes and integration of the IT entity in the company’s core-business, to coexist for better overall results. I can mention a several successful projects, Global Network migration, merger of several independent entities into one group, implementation of IT – Procedures necessary for the ISO-9000 certifications, 3 buyouts and 4 cooperative joint ventures brought together to one securely interconnected and coexisting unity. Maintaining the head-count and services for the company together with a correct vision for the department and a technological advancement with a tight budget is a difficult but very fascinating and satisfactory occurrence.
