jul-1999 to may-2000 Project Manager Project CAPS; KPN-TELECOM

The goal of the CAPS project was to achieve a uniform, centralised and integrated solution for service engineering capacity, making it possible to offer a realistic appointment date towards KPN customers.

Aspects were: redesign and implementation of business processes, integrating engineering capacity as part of the complete order chain management, design and developing a centralised capacity support system, defining system interfaces with several order management systems.

As project manager responsible for:
- project definition
- managing the project team, existing of:
- design team: business analysts (2x), functional designer (1x)
- implementation team: implementation manager, implementation co-operator
- test team: test manager and testers (2x)
- recruitment of project leaders/members
- managing financial accounts

The CAPS system has about 700 direct end-users and 2000 interface users. The system controls 10.000 capacity requests per day.

9/1998 to 7/1999 Project Leader System Development Project FIT; KPN-TELECOM

The project FIT (Field Information Terminal) its target was to create a workplace independent environment for service engineers, making it possible to manage the service engineers from a central control centre and achieving a significant cost reduction. The FIT system controls about 3000 engineers by 600 planners.

As project leader FIT-System Development responsible for:
- managing the project team, existing of business analysts (2x) and functional designers (3x)
- recruitment of project members
- managing financial accounts
- reporting progress towards project management and business management, including risk management and planning
- communication towards supplier
- achieving consensus between several parties at several levels (e.g. system integration, process integration, process implementation, interface parties).

1996-7 to 1998 Manager Bureau System Development; MINISTRY OF DEFENCE-DUTCH ARMY-DMKL

At the DMKL, department Logistic Information Systems active as Manager Bureau System Development. The main tasks were: delivering a specific contribution to the business automation plans, taking care of and controlling the execution of the automation plans, co-ordinating all system development activities within the DMKL (organisation with about 1200 employees), responsible for the execution of system development projects, by taking care of the following main aspects: business analysis, financial and en resource management, managing employee training plans, quality management, progress reporting, managing joint requirement sessions, advising the business about information management. The technical environment was usually Centura/ SQLWindows (4GL), ORACLE7 or SQLBase6 RDBMS and Windows NT operating system.

Participated in a team for building a business information model for the complete logistic process. This model eventually is captured in activity models, where potential bottle-necks are identified. The result was documented in a Analytical Report, which also contained risk analysis and return-on-investment analysis.

1995-1996 Senior System Developer; MINISTRY OF DEFENCE-DUTCH ARMY-NATCO

During this period I played a significant role in changing the traditional (3GL-based) development process in order to fit new organisational standards and incorporate technological changes. As a result a (rapid application) development process was outlined completely supported with the appropriate CASE-tools and class library. To prove the drastic reduction in development time three Client Server applications were successfully accomplished. In the next stage I trained the other system developers. As an effect of continuous success some other defence development teams assimilated the same development process.
1992/1995 System Developer; MINISTRY OF DEFENCE-DUTCH ARMY-DMKL

At the DMKL, department Logistic Information Systems active as system developer. In this position in was responsible for the independent analysis, design, development and implementation of information systems to support the DMKL business processes. Based upon a business analysis a information system was engineered using the SDM methodology. The phases basic design, functional design, technical design, programming and implementation were used. Each phase was concluded with a phase-report. As programming tool the 3 GL CLIPPER was used. Support and assistance for end-users also played a significant role.
