Personal Objective

Over the last 13 years I have worked with mostly Internet and/or (Mobile) Telecommunication companies in the areas of Customer Service, Product Management, Process Management, Marketing, Operations, Sales and Business Development.

It is my aim to find a challenging position where I can leverage my personal drive, skills and experience to clearly add value to the success of the company. My interest is with an internationally oriented company with a strong product/brand and clear strategy to success.

The position involves being part of the management team and/or management of a business unit with responsibility to develop and deliver (new) business or change programs. Alternatively, it could be an e-business specialist position with responsibility for leveraging efficiency and new business opportunities provided by the Internet.

The remuneration package is negotiable. Currently I earn a base salary of 96.000 Euro with 25% bonus, 1200 Euro per month lease car, pension and insurance payments and a substantial option package.

Franchise director
As the Director of Franchise I am responsible for setting up and running the Franchise business unit and includes revenue and margin responsibility. Currently this involves rolling out the franchisee network in Europe -starting in the UK- for the sale and support of websites to the SME market segment as well as structuring the HQ operational support organisation.

In addition I am the Director of Marketing and am responsible for part of the Xtalis Business development.

Business development and product development manager
As part of the management team I was responsible for bringing the European portfolio of products and partnerships up to the level of the US-based parent company while at the same time growing our business by way of large re-sale contracts. In the first three months I provided the BV with a structured approach to market from which this 8-month old company with 55 people was ready to move forward. Due to the US Internet market demand for a ‘road to profitability within 1 year’ and the unfavourable IPO results it was decided to withdraw all Interland investments from Europe.

Set up commercial Dutch travel and accommodation web site (confidential)
As advisor I work together with the project team to establish the concept, business case and partnerships, define the organisation and technical platform requirements and manage the delivery of the accompanying demo.

‘Go to market’ strategy for European ASP-enabling business (confidential)
As part of team I provided the ‘go to market’ strategy approach for this ASP-enabling company. The strategy includes market segmentation, channels to market definition and partner selection.

Advisor for two Internet start-ups (energy and charity)
At this moment I am involved with two Internet start-up initiatives. I provide advice during the early stages of their set-up on market positioning, identity definition, partner selection and implementation plans.

Business case for world-wide Internet lifestyle portal (BAT)
As an advisor and the project manager I am responsible for putting together the business case and the building of the prototype for a lifestyle portal with local content and access via Internet and mobile Internet (SMS, WAP, Palmtops). The business case was approved.

Set up world-wide mobile Internet service provider (Genie; BT Cellnet)
As advisor to the Logica sales team I provided the winning strategy, planning and implementation approach for Genie mobile. Thereafter I initiated the project for the setting up and implementation of this Internet based self-service mobile telecommunication operator whose clients will get world-wide access using WAP across mobile broadband (GPRS).

Manager ISP (Wanadoo; Euronet)
For a period of 5 months I was the Marketing and Implementation manager for the “Business to Consumer” division for one of the oldest Dutch ISPs. Together with about 50 –mostly inexperienced– people I brought the new product portfolio (paid and free dial-up, cable and mobile access) to the market within 2 months. At the same time we launched the Marketing campaign, professionalised the organisation, introduced process based operations, re-launched the web-site, extended the network, implemented a new Customer Care & Billing system, started a partner network and further developed the e-commerce proposition.

Set up the Customer Self-service for a mobile operator (BEN on-line)
Together with a web development company named Info.nl I developed the “Internet for Telcos” concept and proposition, sold the proposition and implemented the first European and fully integrated web customer-self care and value added services site.

Set up web based Sales support for a mobile operator (diAx)
For diAx (Switzerland) I have developed the concept of web based Sales support. Together with a web development company Info.nl I delivered within two months. The web Sales support was such a success that all Customer Services Reps are using the application as the definitive source of information on all packages and tariffs.

Set up Customer Services department for a mobile operator (Telfort)
As part of the Telfort mobile start-up team I was responsible for the development, requirements definition and planning of the Customer Service vision and implementation. Thereafter I managed the tender process for the “business solution” including functionality, processes, and systems and in particular the Internet/intranet based customer services. As part of the implementation team I was responsible for product introduction and processes within the Customer Services department.

I worked as a Sales consultant for the “Customer Care & Billing solutions” group. I was responsible for locating potential clients, the development of the relationship, bids and took part in the contract negotiations with sales of “business solutions” with a worth over 4 million Euro.

As a business consultant I was involved in CC&B implementations for telecommunication companies in; Germany, Spain, Bahrain, Luxembourg, Belgium en Ireland.

Telecommunication operator (BT PLC)

I started my career with BT as a management trainee working in different areas of discipline such as Marketing, Business modelling, Finance, Customer Services, Billing and Internal Audit.

As one of the youngest BT middle managers ever, I was offered a personal contract with responsibility for Billing and Finance requirements definition and implementation on the Syncordia (later Concert) initiative, used to deliver a worldwide and seamless data- and voice network.
