- January 1998: Launch UptoByte, the first computer site aimed at a large audience that is available in Dutch.
2. Webtelligence NV
- November 1998: Webtelligence is founded - Core business: To expand the chain of Upto sites after the successful example of UptoByte.
- March 1999: Launch UptoMovie and UptoMusic.
- November 1999: Launch UptoGame.
3. AdValvas Group NV
- December 1999: AdValvas Group takes a majority stake in Netsign and Webtelligence
- 2000: Karl Gilis strengths the leading market position of the 4 Upto sites thanks to the deepening of the Upto concept in both a content-technical as commercial way. At the same time he urges AdValvas Group to establish AdValvas Media, an umbrella for all the media companies within the group.
4. AdValvas Media
- January 2001: Start AdValvas Media. As CTO and CEO Karl Gilis draws up the AdValvas Media strategy on a content-technical, commercial and structural level.
