Orlando, FL based World Commerce Online, Inc., develops and distributes e-commerce/e-business solutions. WCO initiated its EMEA operations in August 2000. Mr. was responsible to expand WCO’s international operations (outside domestic USA) and established profitable operations in: Israel, South-Africa, Italy, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany and The Netherlands (> 55 employees). Developed and executed an operational excellence program for WCO’s EMEA region partnerships with companies like i2 Technologies and GE Global Exchange Services. Achieved short-term (12 months) revenue targets as well as the overall financial goals & objectives for the EMEA region (>US$ 3,5 M).

Managed a consulting team of 14 people that was responsible for implementing the first European Produce E-Market places (including innovative RFID solutions) from November 2000 – June 2001. Developed and executed a major account direct sales strategy and program within the Perishables-, FMCG-, Automotive-, Financial Services-, Pharmaceutical- and (Petro) Chemical industries. Reported directly into the US-based CEO.

Wellance (\"Internet start-up\") develops, sells and distributes the regedoc subscription services (registered and secured distribution of digital files and documents using IP Network technologies). Recruited and implemented a professional sales and marketing organization (16 employees). Established a number of strategic alliance partnerships in order to speed up international growth objectives. Played a vital role in raising a second round of investment capital (€ 15,0 M - VC money). This funding allowed rapid growth both nationally and internationally. Facilitated the start-up of an UK-based operation and developed a business development plan for introducing the regedoc services into North America.

Successful in achieving short term goals and objectives by successfully managing the sales & marketing organization and closed short term revenue objectives – \"Proof of Concept\" (€ 3.0 Mil), entered into major global partnerships (AEX, ABN-AmRo Bank, Siemens, France Telecom, Telefonica, Oracle and FedEx-US) and established the platform for further growth and international expansion. Developed a strategic business expansion plan and executed an IPO in September 2000.

09/94 - 08/99 CIMAX International
(Chief Executive Officer/Co-owner)

Joined CIMAX International in 1994 (small traditional management consulting firm) and transferred the company into an internationally operating EA/BPM solutions provider employing well over 50 consultants. Entered into 25 strategic alliance partnerships and opened 3 major operating offices in the America\'s, EMEA and Asia/Pacific RIM. Revenues in 1998 were $ 24 Mil (50% consulting revenues and 50 % product license and maintenance revenues). Acquired 25% of CIMAX International’s common shares in 1997. Established CIMAX’ North-American business operation, worked and lived in Chicago for almost 2 years (’97-’99).

Initiated and executed the development of the Asia/Pacific RIM operations and worked and partially worked and lived in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and the US (’97-’99). Raised a first round of VC capital (€ 3,5 M.) in order to fund these international operations effectively.

Guided the US and Asia/Pacific RIM operations into self supporting organizations, developed partnerships with major business application vendors (i.e. SSA, SAP, QAD, Marcam and IBM) and closed well over US$ 10.0 M worth of business with US based and internationally operating Fortune 500 corporations (i.e. GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis Pharma, Nalco Chemical Company, Yamaha Motors, Campbell Soup, 3M, United Biscuits, Novartis Pharma, Pfizer, etc.).

Established a merger with a partner company (The Sabre Group) in the US in order to significantly expand the US operations and prepared the company for an IPO in 2000. Personal circumstances have forced Gideon to sell his equity share of the company in September 1999 and relocated back to the Netherlands.

08/88 – 08/94 Comdisco Disaster Recovery Services
(Executive Vice President European Division)

Developed and managed an integrated network of disaster recovery centers in three major European countries (France, UK and Germany).

\"Europeanized” US-originated CDRS value offerings and supported global DR solution implementations for Fortune 500 corporations with respect to their global DR strategy. Initiated and developed a partner network in the EMEA region for DR capabilities and facilitated the acquisition of a \"cold site\" DR vendor in the UK in order to enhance CDRS offering on a global level. Developed a new DR center in France (16,000 ft2) and build an effective professional services organization as part of the CDRS European Division (lived and worked for 1,5 years in Paris, France).

Established a profitable consulting practice in the EMEA region with 50 subject matter experts providing business continuity-, disaster recovery planning- as well as project management. Managed a sales & marketing organization in the EMEA region. Operating revenues in 1993 reached US$ 100.0 M. Total European staff: 225.

09/83 - 07/88 Computer Uitwijk Centrum

CUC is the first European \"start-up\" in the DR & Business Continuity Services industry. Build the company from \"scratch\" into to a very well known and profitable business continuity operation, servicing almost 100 major corporations in the EMEA region like: KLM, NMB, Nationale Nederlanden, FGH, Proctor & Gamble and Philip Morris. Revenues in 1988 reached US$. 26.0 M; Total staff: 110. Appointed as CEO in 1987 and responsible for sales- & marketing, professional services, operations, account management, HR and F&A.
