Project Manager (Independent Management Consultant)
High volume of liaison with Sri Lankan senior government officials, Ministry of Commerce, and Directors of joint venture blue chip group, issuing information / advice as to specifications and securing appropriate legal documentation.

Responsible for coordinating establishment of office locations for Sri Lankan registered operations company and Joint Company,
spearheading process for Board of Investment, VAT and customs registration to permit duty free and VAT deferred importation of computer and supporting capital equipment.
Initiated installation of communications network to corporate headquarters and regional branches in Asia.
Also set up maintenance / repair warehouses with office space and a Date Centre (Central IBM RS 6000 AIX systems network communications initiative.) Implemented strict quality standards and internal procedures, recruiting / selecting appropriate local temporary support staff.

Established communications network comprising approximately 80% GPRS and 20% IP / VPN over leased lines and implemented land line connections via ex-state telecom provider, accommodating GPRS systems via local major mobile network.

Achievements:
Initiated / implemented comprehensive marketing programme to recruit1,000 retailers with new online lottery throughout Sri Lanka.
Orchestrated development of training programme for operating more than 1,300 retailer terminals and accounting systems throughout the island, with production / translation of manuals in three languages

Project Manager (Independent Management Consultant)
Undertook comprehensive management of a large-scale project,
operating from London and Austin, Texas. Implemented full life cycles> Provided seamless continuous online transaction process from cross merchants and distributing merchant EPOS system, interfaced with GTECH Data Centre central transaction processing system.
Initiated / developed project plan, involving migration to Phase 11 for additional functionality such as Loyalty card integration, Cross Merchants and Distribution merchants accommodated into the system.

Achievements:
Negotiated crucial contracts with card distribution service providers, Bank EFT service for procurement of hardware / software on LAN / WAN infrastructure.
Established multi-disciplinary project team and implemented training schedule for system operators / end users.

West Africa Feasibility / Risk Project

Senior Project Manager
Appointed to undertake feasibility study and risk assessment for proposed project, operating from London, Rhode Island in the USA and West Africa.
Responsible for establishing international project team with expert personnel from the USA, Canada, the UK, Poland, South Africa and Taiwan. Compiled project scope for prospective client requirements, Best Practice policies and technical parameters, comprising compliance with all BS7799, Capacity Maturity Model and incorporating ProcessMax processes.
Commissioned extensive marketing study to establish viability of proposed business case.

Also compiled Due Diligence study and security review based on challenging business environments within the prospective African country. Liaised extensively with funding banks, national police / security forces and government officials, facilitating final presentations to senior government personnel and President of the US Development Institute.

Achievement:
As result of innovation, project was completed on schedule with further review requirements for clients’ acceptance.

GTECH Corporation (Europe)
Euro Conversion Project

Project Manager (Independent Management Consultant)
Appointed to London office, with extensive travel throughout Europe. Formulated corporate Euro conversion strategy, involving software development / testing plan, risk assessment, contingency planning and implementation of conversion for 10 Euro-zone National and State Lottery customers throughout Europe and corporate accounting / administration systems.

Initiated / developed major software changes to core high volume, secure online systems processing annual Euro Zone lottery sales transactions of approximately Euro 17.5 billion.
Also managed / implemented internal Euro Conversion Project,
establishing varied core financial systems, including Sun Systems, SAP, Payroll, Treasury at corporate headquarters and all euro-zone administration centres.

Achievements:
Successfully created / instigated internal euro education campaign throughout the corporation, liaising extensively with the European Central Bank;
Ensured project was completed within a budget of US$5 million and ahead of schedule.
Commended by client and lottery customers for dynamic leadership.

Managing Consultant (seconded to Data Dimensions Inc., USA)
Coordinated operations for 18 European lottery customers and 38 site locations throughout the continent. Undertook full control of engineering teams comprising several hundred staff members in varied European countries.
Successfully managed completion of inventory, assessment, planning, implementation, testing phase and final transaction to Millennium.

Assigned to Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, assisting the Group to define its Y2K Project scope and develop project plan. High volume of liaison with department managers, assimilating information and compiling project specifications / plans.
Prepared proposals and relevant contractual documentation, ensuring clients’ requirements are achieved at all times.
Other remits involved management of Year 2000 building services audit and administration of external audits to assess Year 2000 requirements.
Compiled / delivered reports to UK Government Action 2000 and coordinated supplier management project with It service providers GEDAS.

Appointed to mining exploration / development compo nay, based in France. Responsible for assessing mineral deposits suitable for exploration, working in conjunction with the British Geological Survey. High volume of travel through Czech Republic, Slovakia, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania and France. Also investigated / evaluated Peru and Mexico potential, negotiating with diverse foreign governments to secure exploration permits.
