This position was established in view of the international ambitions of the organisation.

Tasks:
• International expansion of the organisation;
• To develop co-operation and networks between the existing organisation and acquisitions outside The Netherlands. To promote synergy in the growing organisation;
• Intermediary between the organisation and financial institutions (World Bank, EU, Ministry of Finance, FMO, etc.) for projects in developing countries;
• To initiate; institutional developments, organisational (re) structuring, knowledge transfer and capacity building.

The approach to perform these tasks can be captured with the following keywords:

The approach has resulted into expansion of the organisation in Europe and the establishment of strong footholds in specifically P.R. of China and Turkey.
Specifically the last 3 years have been focussed on China, which resulted in 6-8 projects in the environment, conceptual urban planning, master plan for recreational development on a coastal island.

Interim Manager of complex processes.
For the support of the organisation a department “process management” was established for better control of the market and in order to service top levels in the market.

Management of complex processes is aimed on coaching the forces in the market where public and /or private parties, Governmental and NGO’s or combination of those are involved. These tasks were frequently in combination with ad interim positions and (re) organisational tasks.

End results were always positive and objectives were realised.

Various projects in the Netherlands for public and private parties.

1996-1997
Provincial Waterboard, The Netherlands
Interim department Head Building & Civil Engineering.
This position was created prior to organisational changes and due to the lack of (internal) potential candidates for succession.

Tasks:
• To shape the organisational changes strategically and to implement the changes;
• Introduction of commercial approach and conform the market requirements, client friendly approach, thematically approach of projects, etc.;
• To prepare possible successor(s) for the future;
• Representing the organisation in various commissions in order to shape the projected reorganisations;
• To coach the complex processes around the reorganisations.

The objectives were always realised.

1988-1996

Senior consultant.
The usual interim activities in a management consultancy group.

Tasks were consultancy tasks around complex processes, co-ordination and management.

Some projects; urban & environmental planning for a Dutch developer in England, process co-ordination for the Malaysian Government for the New Kuala Lumpur International Airport, communication processes around the realisation of a traffic free bus lane to the airport of Schiphol, management during the re-accommodation of a psychological institute, etc.
Areas of operation: The Netherlands, England and Malaysia.

End results were always positive and objectives were realised.

Private
Gained experience with PHARE projects of the EU for the rehabilitation and expansion of 300 medical support stations in Rumania.

1982-1987
International Project Developer., Singapore
Project manager.
The usual activities with a project developer.

Tasks always focussed on the realisation of project development, as well as knowledge transfer, introduction of quality thinking to local staff.
Areas of operation: Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Thematic project approach.
Projects included: 25 stories high rise hotel building with 5 storey deep basement car park, partly involved in the realisation of subway stations, refinery projects.

End results were always positive and objectives were realised.

1979-1982

Manager.
Same management consultancy with identical tasks and authorities to the period 1988-1996.
Areas of operation: Suriname and the Caribbean.
Projects included: a bridge, low cost housing development and hospitals.

The usual activities within a consulting engineering organisation.
