Heat Software is a knowledge management software company based in Guildford, Surrey. This temporary/contract role is focused on the following key areas:-

· Developing sales and marketing strategy in conjunction with CEO & Sales & Marketing Director
· Identifying and profiling target customers within target markets; Legal, financial, government and pharmaceutical
· Managing evaluation processes, implementation and adoption of jump! software products
· Engaging knowledge-management decision makers within target customers and managing the formal proposal process
· Negotiating the sales process with customers and integrators

Dec 2001 – Aug 2002: Head of Syndication – Sportsio Ltd (Europe)

Sportsio was a new media rights management company specialising in the acquisition and commercialisation of football brands, clubs and players within the UK, Europe, USA and Latin America. Sites within its portfolio included Umbro.com, Onefootball.com, and USLsoccer.com, as well as a host of club and player web sites. My role involved the following: -

· Driving sales of content solutions to both online and offline media companies.
· Managing syndication and strategic partnerships through the Sportsio global network, in particular the markets of Europe, Asia and the USA.
· Working with senior management to develop and execute commercial strategies across the Sportsio portfolio, including mobile, sponsorship, advertising and other revenue streams.
· Developing offline content strategies, including the Onefootball.com magazine, and maximising key business partnerships with national newspapers and other media.
· Developing WAP & SMS content solutions, and maximising opportunities for distribution and syndication of these services


Feb 2001 – Nov 2001: Business Development Manager (Content) - ZDNet (UK) Ltd. –London E1

ZDNet (UK) is part of CNET Networks Inc., and is the UK’s leading provider of technology and gaming news, analysis, reviews and other information. My responsibilities included the following: -

· Developing and refining ZDNet’s content syndication model, including pricing, targets, budgetary and technical requirements for both ZDNet brands.
· Driving sales of content solutions among internet portals, ISP’s and other specific markets, both on a local and European level.
· Developing strategic content partnerships and other audience development initiatives in order to increase targeted traffic to ZDNet sites.
· Analysing traffic performance and partner referrals to ZDNet sites, providing monthly forecasts and results to ZDNet directors.

March 1999 – Feb 2001: Business Development Manager - XPO Network Ltd London W6

XPO Network is the leading developer of internet kiosk solutions at airports throughout Europe and the USA. My clients included Sports.com, Compaq, WSJ.com, MSN and Avis. My responsibilities included the following: -

· Drive sales of XPO’s media and online opportunities to prospective clients and agencies.
· Initiate contact with European airports and develop corporate sales pitch.
· Work closely with Marketing Director to create sales presentations, market analysis documents, and PR strategy.
· Manage in-house business development team and identify and work with third party sales houses to maximise revenue opportunities.

Oct 1998 – Feb 99 Sales Consultant - Acacia Interactive – Petersfield, Hampshire

DK Acacia is a publisher of GCSE revision aids for the educational online and CD-ROM market. This consultancy role involved the following;
· Identifying international publishing and distribution partners for revision aid software.
· Presenting products and publishing concepts to high-level decision makers.
· Negotiating terms of contract with international partners and distributors.


Sept 1995 - Sept 98: Export Sales Manager - Northern & Shell Distribution – London E14

Northern & Shell Distribution is the circulation arm of Northern & Shell plc, Britain’s leading independent magazine publisher. Titles published include OK!, Chic, Official Liverpool F.C. Magazine, Official Arsenal F.C Magazine and Attitude. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, my role encompassed the following;

· Driving sales of all titles within export markets, through constant liaison with international distributors.
· Providing forecasts and budgets for export marketplace, responsible for departmental turnover of £4 million per annum.
· Negotiating licencing contracts and syndication rights with international publishers.

Mar’93 - June’95 – Product Manager - NPL International Development, London
· Liased with advertising/promotional agencies on each product strategy/launch.
· Initiated new market development strategies and developed sales leads
