the management and development of the product buying and marketing function for the European Virgin Megastores
controlling all purchasing activity including buying budgets, sales targets, stock and margin management.

Main Achievements:
Increased gross margins by 3% by re negotiation of all major supplier terms, improved product availability and rationalisation of the supply sources across 7 European countries.
Reduced staff costs in stores and local head offices by £2m by centralisation of functions.
Masterminded the rewrite of the company stock and order system (£1m investment) to improve product availability and reduce administrative overheads.
Project managed the opening of 16 new stores in 7 countries, including initial market research, planning of store layout and product mix and formulation of staffing structures.

Managed the central buying of 3,000 product lines for the stores nationwide.
