Since May 1998, I am responsable for the sales in the Benelux, France, Great-Britain, Spain and Sweden.

Customers : Faurecia, Johnson Controls, Lear, ECA, Ikeda Hoover …..

Other project : development and construction of a Pullmaflex product type machine

Schukra is manufacturing lumbar support systems for car seats and is the biggest competitor of Pullmaflex.
I am working out of my office at home.

Leggett & Platt bought the Schukra Group on the 1rst of May 2000.

As a result of that , my contract was terminated on the 9th of June 2000.

Sales Manager Automotive
Since December 1, 1996 responsable for the sales in the automotive industry.
The task was, via my contacts in the automotive , to sell non-woven products to the automotive. I was able to increase the sales for the automotive with 30 % in 14 months time. Unfortunately, Libeltex did not have spare production capacity to grow further.

Responsible for everything concerning production.
Pullmaflex manufactures seat suspension systems, mainly for the automotive industry but also for furniture, busses, trucks, trains and airplanes.
Pullmaflex has companies in the UK, Sweden and Spain, a joint-venture company in South-Africa and licensees in Italy, Japan and Australia.

The yearly turnover increased from 130 million BF to 504 million between 1982 and 1995.
A new department for product development was established during this period. The development department develops now for all sistercompanies worldwide.

In order to be able to produce the new products, we had to develop the machinery to manufacture those products ourselves. A department for machine development has been established.
That department develops and assembles machinery for the group.
Machines were sold to Sweden, South-Africa, Australia, UK and Spain.

Pullmaflex Benelux N.V. is now the biggest company in the Pullmaflex Group and employs 147 people.
All the European car manufacturers are directly or indirectly a customer.
We supply Just-In-Time to some customers.

We are capable to make black-box developments : because of that and because of our quality we are the sole supplier worldwide for the Ford Mondeo seat lumbar support ( The Ford Mondeo is called the Ford Contour and the Mercury Mystique in the USA).

Our company is known for its good quality, we are for example a Ford Q1 supplier.
I am attending regularly seminars, organised by the automotive industry, to be informed about the new quality requirements and techniques : benchmarking, Kaizen.

Because our product development was succesful, I became responsible for the group product development in 1991. This resulted in many business trips and contacts with the automotive and seat making industry in Europe, USA, Japan, Australia, Korea and South-Africa.

Customers : Ford, Opel, Volvo, Saab, Mercedes, Renault, Citroën, Peugeot, VW …
Johnson Controls, Lear, ECA, Faurecia ….

Outside our normal market in Benelux, Germany and France, we also have customers in Turkey, Brazil, USA and Japan.

In June 1994, Leggett & Platt acquired the Pullmaflex Group. Leggett & Platt is a USA Fortune 500 company. Pullmaflex is now part of the Automotive Division of Leggett & Platt.

In July 1995, besides my position of Managing Director of Pullmaflex Benelux N.V., I was appointed Group Manufacturing Director. The sales was centralized by a Group Sales Director.
As Group Manufacturing Director I am responsible for the production plants in Belgium, UK, Sweden and Spain.
I continue to be responsible for the joint-venture in South-Africa (member of the board of directors) and the licensees in Italy, Japan and Australia.

MAXI-CAP N.V. Erembodegem 1975 - 1976

From April 1975 till December 1976.
After succeeding in the psycho-technical tests at the “Belgisch Centrum voor Toegepaste Psychologie” in Brussels 5.

I was employed by Maxi-Cap as production manager responsible for : production, purchase, personnel and organization. I reported directly to the group-management in Sweden.



Maxi-Cap N.V. in Erembodegem manufactured twist-off caps. The company was owned by the Swedish Wicanders group, with headquarters in Älvängen near Göteborg in Sweden.

For my job I had to travel to Sweden, Germany, France, Italy and the UK.

SPRAGUE ELECTROMAG N.V. Ronse 1973 - 1975

I was employed from October 1973 till April 1975 as projectleader, after succeeding in the psycho-technical tests at Securex in Genth.

Sprague Electromag is a U.S. company manufacturing electronic components. The headquarter is located in North Adams in Massachusetts, USA.

I was responsible engineer for the installation of tantalum capacitors productionlines.
I had a training from October 1973 till March 1974 in several Sprague plants in the USA and Canada. This was necessary to learn the 140 different machines needed for the production : operation, maintenance and installation.
I had to test out the machines bought in the USA, at the supplier place, before shipment to Belgium.
In Belgium , I was responsible for the assembly, testing and shipment of the machinery to Poland. Also I was responsible for the training of the polish operators in Belgium and Poland.

In April 1974 , I attended a seminar for high-vacuum technics at Leybold-Heraeus in Cologne, Germany. This was necessary to become familiar with the leak-detection methods.

From July till December 1974, I was responsible for the installation of a complete production line for tantalum capacitors at Unitra-Elwa, Warschau, Poland.




BRICK-YARD “DE STEENBERG” Oudenaarde 1972 - 1973

I was employed from July 1972 till October 1973, after succeeding in the psychotechnical tests conducted by Mr. Lievens, assistent at the University from Genth.

I was production manager responsible for about 30 workers.
I was responsible for the production control, organization, personnel, maintenance of the machines and buildings.


VAN DE CALSEYDE Gent 1969 - 1972

I was employed from January 1969 till July 1972.
Van de Calseyde is a wholesale trade and repair of automotive parts.

As workshopleader of the technical department, I was responsible for about 35 workers.
I was responsible for the control and organization of the technical department, and for the maintenance of machinery and buildings.

Modern Humaniora scientific A at the O.L. Vrouwecollege in Oudenaarde.

I succeeded in the entrance examination for civil engineer at the University of Genth.


Industrial Engineer
I received my diploma of Technical Engineer in mechanics at the end of the schoolyear 1966 - 1967.
January 12, 1979, I received the title of Industrial Engineer in mechanics.

I am the inventor of several patents :
- European patent 84105798.7 concerning a unique seat suspension system without tension springs.
- Patent PCT/GB93/00866 concerning a four way adjustable lumbar support.
- New patent applications were made in the UK in January 1996 concerning new lumbar support systems.
