One of the business case scenarios (Cloud & Data Center) has been chosen by executive management and has been realized by several initiatives within Albert Heijn. These initiatives all have change programs effecting technology, process and organization.

TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Responsible for the development of a new, and fully automated, data center concept. The architecture has been developed according to the serverless concept, using container technology and all conceivable aspects of a software defined datacenter. Bol.com is currently rolling out all her application releases on this new concept.

Responsible for the migrations of all 23 Data Centers of the Justice Department (de Rechtspraak) of the Netherlands. The Migrations project has a phased approach and

Successfully implemented consolidation, relocation of twin data centers and centralizations of 23 decentralized data centers of the Justice Department. Proposed and implemented new technologies to achieve the project results, e.g. VDI park, OpenVMS emulation, automations and simplification of DR mechanism.

Seven years after the conclusion of the Ahold-HP outsourcing contract, there were still two data centers in the Netherlands where functionality was "left behind" that needed to be phased out or migrated to Germany. This was a high risk, high impact project in which the phasing out and relocation of the remaining functionality had to be accelerated.

Ahold singed a new contract whereby all telephony and data traffic is consolidated into one supplier: KPN. Ahold is doing this to further reduce costs and to set up its network more efficiently. The company is also taking advantage of new developments in telephone technology.

* The transition from analog/digital telephony to telephony over the network (Voice over IP) in Ahold's distribution centers where end users were given new telephone numbers.
* Replacing all national and international connections
* Reducing WAN complexity by phasing out network nodes.

Transition back to the organization (insourcing) of the operational responsibility of the new Storage & Backup solution executed by an external supplier for a period of 9 months. After this period ICTRO took over the operational responsibility. For this program a strong changing baseline applied together with the reorganizing organization that has to be maneuvered through.

Responsible for the introduction of new infrastructure in the twin data center and the 25 decentral locations. Responsible for the procurement of (sub)contractors such as Dell, SLTN and EMC.

• Backend infra: the realization of an entire new infrastructure based on Windows
2008, consisting of: Active Directory, MS Exchange 2008, MS SQL 2008, SCCM. In addition, the central foundation based on VMware Vshpere 4 has been installed on Dell Blade Enclosures.
• Storage: The implementation and realization of the Storage & Backup solution. The implementation concerns in the central computer center as well as the 25 de-central locations based on EMC, Symantec Netbackup, Datadomain and Quantum.
• Server & Automations: Set up deployment mechanism and deploy 48 Blades in the central computing center and over 60 rackmounted systems based on VMware Vshpere 4. Rollout of 25 Domain Controllers, 25 SCCM nodes, 2 Exchange CCR Clusters and systems based on Windows 2008.
• Network: Rolling out B-CLASS IP numbering system for the justice department across all locations, implementing Infoblox DHCP/DNS grid across all locations. Preparing the migration of the LAN at the locations in the Netherlands.
• Packaging factory: coordinating the packaging of all 350 end user applications to make them suitable for deployment on the new Window 7 workstations.

CHANGE & IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER

Responsible for supervising multiple projects under the Tango program and ensuring quality assurance of project deliverables by establishing acceptance criteria, keeping project progress transparent to the organization, monitoring the process design, acting as the technical reference for Program Managers, reviewing PIDs, (technical) designs and other project deliverables. Granting discharge on projects and attending PIR (project implementation review).

PROJECT MANAGER, ARCHITECT

Responsible for the design, build and migration of the new "Twin-Datacenter”. The design was based on minimizing energy consumption and maximizing redundancy and innovativeness. After completion, 200 physical servers and SAN have been moved. All within 2,2 mio budget and defined timelines.
