• Sale of a leader in professional education in Holland to a semi-public investor (venture capital fund), negotiations of the transaction and preparation of all legal documentation.

• Interim CEO, restructuring of a loss making Swiss publishing company, a subsidiary of Germany’s leading publishers of educational media in Germany and Switzerland with sales in excess of € 350 million. Development and implementation of a new strategy and marketing concept. Conceptualisation and coordination of new IT requirements. Break-even reached after 9 months.

• CEO of a management and services company for an international internet gaming platform, currently the number 2 in the industry, with a turn over of several hundred million Euros. Handling of complex international tax, financial and treasury affairs since the start-up of the internet platform in 2004.

• Turn-around manager, interim Controller and CFO, Company Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss leader in the production and distribution of quick assembly cranes and other construction equipment. Negotiation of a moratorium with lenders and creditors, closing of subsidiaries, implementation of a new strategy. Successful turn around with repayment of most outstanding multi-million Euro debt within 5 years.

• Interim group treasurer and restructuring consultant for the holding and group companies in Switzerland, the UK and the US of the world leader in hotel in-room refrigerators. Implementation of a group treasury, securing of expansion capital.

• Interim CEO and member of the Board of Directors, restructuring of the Swiss Private Banking subsidiary of a UK Merchant Bank. Conceptualization and implementation of a new private banking strategy. Analysis of and recommendation for new IT requirements.

• Venture capital fund raising and corporate finance consultancy to a start-up corporation for a golf travel and Greenfee booking internet platform.

• M & A consultancy work related to the acquisition of a minority interest in a Swiss based world leader of binding and laminating systems (office supply products).

• Senior Vice President, member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Managing Director of the Luxembourg based Private Banking subsidiary of Switzerland’s oldest financial institution, restructuring of the bank, development and conceptualization of a new business strategy and in its realization in the areas of Private Banking and Asset Management, Syndicated Lending as well as IT, Organization and Controlling. Conceptualization and implementation of a new IT platform.

• Participation in a KPMG mandate, financial consultant to the minister of agriculture regarding the international financing of various agricultural projects.

• Mandated by Swisscom, the leading Swiss telecom provider, to perform coaching seminars on various management and business subjects for top and middle management at a Mobile Telecom Provider in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.


Education

Degree as a Micro Economist from the Graduate School of Business Economics (Berner Fachhochschule fuer Wirtschaft HSW) of the City of Bern

• 30 years management experience and management skills on junior and senior levels, including executive positions such as Treasurer, CFO, CEO and Board of Directors
• 25 years private banking and wealth management
• 20 years turn-around management
• 10 years experience in corporate banking, trade finance, corporate finance and private equity
• 5 years setting up and developing start-up corporations
• Transaction execution skills on all levels, including negotiation of complex legal documentation

• Sound knowledge of accounting and corporate finance techniques
• Sound knowledge of cash-flows modelling and valuation methodologies
