Position: Programme Manager/Management Consultant (interim position)
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officers of a major global venture capital firm, the scope was to device a technological framework that will transform the company into an e-business and facilitate the delivery of its strategic intent.
Achievements:
· Created a global business systems architecture to help the company manage its operational and information sharing activities, internally as well as with its external parties. This encapsulated back-office accounting, knowledge management and business intelligence.
· Defined a set of projects needed for supporting the resultant applications architecture and directed the component projects and all third party relations.
· Project managed the knowledge management implementation, the prototype of which was presented at the company’s international conference.
· Led and co-ordinated the ensuing activities to bring about the organisational change that was necessary to institutionalise the new working methodologies.


Omicron Research (Jan 2001 –June 2001)
Position: Management Consultant (interim position)
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the scope of the assignment was to advise on business restructuring and development within a family-owned scientific equipment sales and services company.
Achievements:
· Contributed to the company expansion, which amounted to 40% increase in sales turnover and 50% increase in employed personnel during the year 2001.
· Designed and initiated the development of the company’s extranet.


BP Amoco, formerly Burmah Castrol (Mar 1998 – Nov 2000)
Position (Mar99-Nov2000): Business Systems Programme Manager
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the Commercial Business Unit, the scope was to work with the board of management in constructing and implementing the business’s technology strategy. This was aimed at addressing existing and emerging needs, following the restructuring of the organisation and the resultant centralised market focused business units.
The scope also covered creating and directing a group of project managers, analysts and contract staff to execute and support the delivery of the overall programme.
Achievements:
· Introduced Service Level Agreements amongst the user community, leading to a 30% reduction in central IT costs and advancing to zero profit centre for 2001.
· Initiated and managed a set of projects to optimise the delivery of the business systems strategy in order to enhance business operations and add commercial value.
· Managed the support of Castrol’s Laboratory Management Information System and directed the global roll out of the subsequent Y2K compliant release. The number of customers worldwide using the system increased from 240 to 300, with a total system’s turnover in excess of £5m.
· Initiated joint venture relations with an international vendor for developing an asset management application. Successfully managed the implementation of the joint programme at several customer sites globally leading to an increase in customer retention.
· Introduced a ‘best practice’ approach for managing the team’s performance leading to a 30% increase in the group’s productivity and adoption by other departments.

First Position (Mar98-Mar99): Principal Consultant
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer of the Burmah Castrol group of companies, the scope was firstly to provide technology strategy consulting to two key business areas and secondly to manage the company wide Business Intelligence/Knowledge Management marketing and communication campaign to liferate the notions and benefits throughout the Burmah Castrol group.
Achievements:
· Worked with the board of two business streams to construct their information systems strategy.
· Two successful implementations in the area of business intelligence/decision support.


Compaq Computers, formerly Tandem Computers (1995 – 1998)
Position: Senior Consultant
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Professional services, responsibilities included providing consulting services to multinational organizations, in all industry sectors, on the implementation of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Systems.


Achievements:
· Provided pre and post sales professional services resulting in services revenue. In this role covered several industry areas including finance, retail, telecommunication and travel.
· Evaluated several data warehousing tools in the areas of data migration, data mining and CRM and became the lead consultant in advising customers with their analysis and selection process.
· Developed the business case and ensuing plan to set up and run professional services’ organisation for SAP/NT implementation and attained management’s commendation to direct the European Professional Services Division.


British Airways (1992 – 1995)
Position: Decision Support Consultant
Responsibilities: Provide Business Intelligence and statistical consultancy for the Marketing and Finance Functions.
· Constructed data models, using clustering and simulation techniques, to analyse revenue and scheduling requirements for BA. Those models were incorporated into the overall capacity planning and yield management programs.
· Designed and delivered a database system for collecting and managing executive lounge information. Analysis of the information led to the opening of additional airport lounges worldwide.
· Carried out the design and analysis of research questionnaires for Brand Marketing.


Hewlett Packard (1989 – 1992)
Position: Programme Manager – Customer Satisfaction Measurements
Responsibilities: Manage the Customer Satisfaction Programme for the UK sales region.
· Managed the design and delivery of the UK’s annual Customer Satisfaction Surveys for the five component business units, attaining the highest average response rate of 55%. Successfully used the results to recommend and drive, at board level, quality improvement projects
· Managed the initiation and implementation of the customer feedback programme, including the design and development of a customer complaint tracking and resolution process and customer care training delivery.
· Facilitated process improvements projects with Sales Order Processing resulting in a 20% increase in call taking rates and improved call handling.
